I've been a little busy getting the giveaway together & working on a few other things for this blog. I want everything to look nice. I set up accounts on Instagram, Facebook, & Twitter so be sure to go follow on those so you can stay up to date on this blog. My goal is to do a minimum of three updates per week on this blog, that goes for all of those social media accounts too. I'm accepting any tips or suggestions anyone has, the more the merrier! I changed the name of this blog, I hope everyone likes the new name! Except I realized the initials for it would be H.O. so that kind of sucks, haha. Oh well, I'll just never use it like that.
On my next post, I'll put up a hint photo of an item from the giveaway so you can guess what it might be. I want to start the giveaway contest on November 2nd. It's going to be on Instagram & Twitter. You can just participate on one site, but if you do both you'll get an extra entry. The contest will last two weeks. I'll put up all of the details & rules on the giveaway page by Sunday night.
I'm going to start my reviews this week. I think my first two reviews will be of a beauty product & a cleaning product. Keep an eye on the reviews because sometimes they might include a simple entry giveaway of the products I'll review. Sometimes I'll even do a giveaway for an item I didn't like so that I can feature your review too. Sounds good, right?

Anyway, there were a few good freebies this week. #1 being the $10 refund from Red Bull due to their class action lawsuit for false advertising. Another nice freebie was the pack of Temptations Tumblers cat treats from Kroger. I know that my kitties were excited when I brought those home, they roll = basically a snack & toy all in one! I've almost got the beauty bag for the giveaway contest all set, it will include some items from a major cosmetic brand. As soon as I know I've got 15 readers, I'll start the contest (most likely in November.) It's going to be on Instagram & Twitter. You will need to follow me on both of those but you don't have to start until the giveaway contest starts. It will last 2 weeks. I'm planning on doing 1 giveaway contest per season + 1 giveaway contest around my birthday. Maybe more depending on how well the first two go.

This is my first post for this blog, so I will try not to ramble on too much. I am starting this blog mainly because I recently lost my job due to outsourcing & now need something to fill my time while I am on the job hunt. I am also starting this blog to connect with a new audience. The main focus of my blog is going to be free stuff, give-aways, & reviews. I'll post about good free deals as well as review products/services. I do plan on doing give-aways, but only once I have enough readers for this blog. A give-away that only involves like 5 people is not exciting enough for me, I'll need at least 15 people who want to participate before I start one. Hint: my first give-away prize has already been selected & it is a beauty bag!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE free things. I have been getting free products off of the internet since 2004. People say that nothing is free, which is true. You have to put effort into getting free things, even if that effort is only filling in a form. That is why I chose $FREE.99 as the title of my blog. "$FREE.99, & other occurrences" means that it will mostly be about free products, but I will talk about other things as well.
